Dr. Jeremy L. Wells researches and teaches in the Department of Political Science at Texas State University. He has written, taught, and presented about politics, international relations, and succeeding in college for more than a decade. He earned his Ph.D. in Political Science from Louisiana State University in 2013, working under Dr. David Sobek. Before that, he graduated with a B.A. in Political Science from Berea College (KY) in 2007.
At work, Dr. Wells helps students succeed at college and better understand political processes in the U.S. and the world. His research focuses on military interventions, and he also studies civil–military relations. Before that, he wrote his dissertation on the relationship between foreign aid and political development in the Global South. In addition, his personal interests include project management, personal finance, and podcasting.
He, his wife Halley, and their daughter Cora and dog Tiberius live in San Marcos, Texas. You can often find him walking around their neighborhood walking Tiberius and listening to the latest podcasts on productivity and politics.
